Mercedes-Benz Rolls-Out 100k Cars in India
On Sunday, Mercedes-Benz India rolled-out its 100,000th car, E-Class sedan, in Indian market from its manufacturing facility at Chakan, Maharashtra.
Mercedes-Benz India CEO
and Managing Director Ronald Folger stated, “With the growing demand of
Mercedes-Benz products, a spiralling aspiration among young successful Indians,
our extensive and expanding local portfolio, combined with an unparalleled
network and innovations in customer service; we are positive that the next
production milestone will be attained even earlier.”
Speaking on the
occasion, Folger said, “The roll-out of the 100,000th Mercedes-Benz vehicle in
India is a strong testimony of the impeccable customer trust and the
unsurpassable brand equity Mercedes-Benz enjoys in this dynamic country.”
The German automaker
assembles a wide variety of cars in India, and the 100,000th E-class
cars made seem popular in the country itself.
In addition, Mercedes-Benz
also makes the likes of the C-Class, CLA-Class and the range topping S-Class
both in standard and Maybach form in India.
Continuous Expansion
The company was the
first luxury car brand to enter the Indian market in 1994, with
the W124 E-Class, the first luxury car in the country’s modern era
which rolled out the assembly plant of Mercedes-Benz India in Pimpri, Pune.
The company moved to the
facility in Chakan with an investment of more than Rs 1,000 crore. The facility
is spread over 100 acres, making a part of Mercedes-Benz’ Global Production Network.
Since June 2015, the
automotive company also commenced production from its new expanded production
facility also located in the same premises. Mercedes-Benz claims to have of the
largest spare parts warehouse by luxury car manufacturer in India which can
stock up to 44,000 parts, giving them a competitive edge in the global car
market.
